Since our launch 10 months ago, AnnArbor.com has worked to expand our coverage area and bring you stories not just from Ann Arbor, but from surrounding communities as well.
One of our top priorities is to provide you with news and information about the vibrant community of Saline. Today, we launch a page devoted to news, issues and daily life in Saline, which boasts the second largest school district in Washtenaw County and a charming blend of old and new in its downtown and surrounding area.
We'll be covering school board and City Council meetings, writing about new store openings and other business developments, and bringing you stories about important issues and interesting people.
You'll find stories like today's article about Saline Middle School's quest for a grant and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital's decision to close its inpatient unit.
The page includes statistics about Saline, links to local resources and photos from around the area. You'll also find links to coverage of high school sports teams in the Saline school district.
We also invite you to share your news with us. Look for the “Got News? Tell Us” portal and submit a local story.
You can help us make this page a hub of information for Saline and the surrounding area. Give us your feedback. Post information you think is important. Call or e-mail us with your story ideas.

You already had stories related to Saline, Chelsea and Dexter. Then why do they need thier own page but the rest of the cities in Washtenaw County don't need it. With the edition of Chelsea and Dexter that pretty much covers Washtenaw County, accept Milan. Is it because Milan straddles Monroe County also. When the Ann Arbor News went under the Monroe Evening News got a large increase in subscribers in Milan per the driver who delivers to Milan. Ignoring Milan with it's own page while giving all the other Washtenaw County cities only makes the people in Milan feel the Ann Arbor.com doesn't consider Milan a very important reader base.

hopefully this is a trend that will include future local pages -- as it is, right now annarbor.com ends at US-23.... hint hint

Fine but Saline isn't the only town in Washtenaw County besides Ann Arbor. The Ann Arbor News often had Milan sports stories in just a paragraph since they left the SEC to the Huron League. Now thier bias is showing again. Are there any plans for pages for any other Washtenaw County cities besides Ann Arbor and Saline?

I love the Saline page! I just wish I didn't have to read about St. Joe's Saline closing it's inpatient department. It's a tragic loss of a top notch facility. The people that work there are the best at what they do. Saline is poorer for this.

Very good news, indeed. Saline is both an important, distinct demographic worthy of dedicated (indexed) coverage, as well as an opportunity for AnnArbor.com to create a bit of a unique virtual community where much-needed ongoing dialogues will be fostered. Count me in!
