By Tony Dearing

Stephen Ranzini, president and CEO of University Bancorp in Ann Arbor, has joined the Editorial Board of AnnArbor.com.

Ranzini is a graduate of Yale, and as a student there, was co-founder of The Yale Herald, a weekly newspaper. He has been the head of University Bank since 1988, and was named a Community Banker of the Year by U.S. Banker Magazine in 2006. He has served on the former Ann Arbor Housing Policy Board and was director and treasurer of Project Joshua, a non-profit economic development agency formed by 54 churches in Washtenaw County. His interests include ancient American history, bicycling, foreign languages and violin. As a youth, he attended the National Music Camp at Interlochen for seven summers.

Ranzini is one of three community members on our Editorial Board and will serve a four-month stint. The board also includes community members Mary Cullen Guttman and David Canter, as well as Matt Kraner, Laurel Champion and Tony Dearing of the AnnArbor.com staff.
