You pick the 'Best Of' the Ann Arbor area with new weekly contest on AnnArbor.com
That's for the people of Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County to decide. And you can help choose the winner by casting your vote in our weekly Best Of competition.
This new feature on AnnArbor.com launched today, and our first category is "Best Pizza." We have 25 local businesses competing for the title, and you get to choose the winner. Go to the pizza contest page to cast your vote.
Our new Best Of contest is similar to what many people will remember as the annual Community Choice or Reader's Choice awards that AnnArbor.com and previously The Ann Arbor News held. Instead of a once-a-year deal, we decided to spread the awards over 52 weeks and let the community pick the Best Of from a different category every week. Some weeks, we'll have multiple categories, too.
Each week, the new Best Of will launch on Monday — look for it on our homepage and in our Daily Headlines newsletter. Voting will be open through Sunday, and the winner will be announced the following Monday. Be sure to log in to AnnArbor.com to cast your vote for the contender you feel is the Best Of in that week's category and tell your friends to vote, too.
Among the categories coming up are best coffeehouse, best brewery, best burger and best grocery store.
Not only do you get to pick the winner, you can help us choose the nominees. Go to our contest directory page to check out the future categories and recommend a nominee.

@A2comments - thanks for bringing up the question of businesses with multiple locations. To keep our profiles and listings to a manageable length, we've included just one central location in the listing. However, in the "Business Profile" we provide a link to "More Washtenaw County locations." This link brings you to the specific page on the Cottage Inn website where you can do a location search. We consider all of the Cottage Inn locations as part of this contest.

Is this only for "the best places to spend money"? Or are you gonna have some free stuff, too? Best park, best hiking trail, nicest kept block, best public works project, etc...? Also, how about "building you'd most like to see renovated/torn down.."
