Ann Arbor's Carlisle/Wortman markets development services to cash-strapped municipalities

By Paula Gardner

Building is down across Michigan - a situation impacting both the professionals that aid developers and municipalities as they maintain staffs to regulate projects.

However, one Ann Arbor-based planning consultant sees growth potential in that scenario.

According to a story in today's Crains Detroit Business, "Carlisle/Wortman Associates L.L.C. will work with Loveland, Colo.-based Safebuilt Inc. to market privatized government services such as building code inspections and enforcement."

As a result, company president Richard Carlisle told Crain's, the firm could add 7 employees over the next year if the effort takes off.
