Ann Arbor auto dealership Howard Cooper Honda is one of two Honda dealerships to receive the automaker's highest dealership honor, officials announced.

Howard Cooper Honda received American Honda Motor Co.'s President's Award for 2009, marking the eighth time the dealership has received the designation. Some 118 of more than 1,000 Honda dealerships nationwide received the award.

"Earning the Honda President’s Award takes a team of dedicated professionals unwavering in their pursuit of excellence and customer care,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of automobile sales for American Honda, in a news release.

Honda said the award honors dealerships that display excellence in "all areas of operation" -- including customer service and sales.
