Washtenaw county Walmarts not affected by change in hours

By Sarah Rigg

Walmart recently announced that many of its stores will be open 24 hours on Thanksgiving and the following day to alleviate problems with customers rushing in for Black Friday deals, but the announcement appears to have had little effect in Washtenaw County.

The change doesn't affect the Walmart in Saline, which has been open 24 hours a day seven days a week since it opened in mid-October. And today, a telephone call to the Walmart in Ypsilanti revealed that store does not plan to open 24 hours for the holidays. An employee said the Ypsilanti store will continue its regular hours, 6 a.m. until midnight.

AnnArbor.com staff has compiled a list of holiday shopping hours in the area. It will be updated regularly, and the current version can be seen here.
