The Ann Arbor Public Schools Educational Foundation recently announces a $50,000 gift to its One Million Reasons Campaign in support of math and science programs in the Ann Arbor Public Schools for the 2010-2011 academic year. The contribution comes from IMRA America on the occasion of the company's 20th anniversary in Ann Arbor.

Founded in 1990, IMRA America Inc. is a firm headquartered in Ann Arbor that develops ultra-fast fiber laser technologies for commercial applications.

A check was presented on Aug. 30 to the Ann Arbor Public Schools Educational Foundation at IMRA’s 20th anniversary celebration, held at the company’s headquarters in Ann Arbor. AAPSEF’s Executive Director Wendy Correll accepts the check on behalf of the Ann Arbor Public Schools Educational Foundation board.

All proceeds from the One Million Reasons Campaign, including IMRA’s gift, will be directed to the Ann Arbor Public School District’s 2010-2011 academic year.
