The home, located at 230 Fairbrook in Northville is awaiting certification as a LEED Platinum home.

Builder Doug Selby and architect Michael Klement will give guided tours explaining many of the techniques that make this home more comfortable, healthy and energy-efficient than a conventionally built home. During these 50-minute tours, visitors will be given information on how to make any home as efficient as it can be.

Visitors can choose a guided tour at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.. Each hourly tour can accommodate a maximum of 30 people.

Or, those who prefer to take an unguided tour can visit the home from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Access to areas of the home may be limited during guided tour hours.

This tour, as with other "Behind the Drywall Tours" put on by Selby and Klement, are free and open to the public. They say the guided tours tend to fill up quickly, so advance registration is suggested at http://www.meadowlarkbuilders.com/home/upcoming-events.
