Paparazzi: Milan Chamber hosts 'Business After Hours' event

The Milan Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its first Business After Hours of 2010 on March 18 at Randy Wise Chevrolet Buick.

Attendees received tours of the dealership, free test drives, refreshments and an opportunity to network with other business people from the area.

Milan Chamber President and Randy Wise employee Christine Mann gave a brief history of the Randy Wise Automotive Team which, in addition to the Milan location, includes dealerships in Flint, Fenton and Ortonville. Randy Wise Automotive Vice President Chris Wise spoke of the importance of the Milan location in their organization and his commitment to this area. General Manager Robert Betts explained his commitment to the local community by employing local people whenever possible and supporting community organizations.

Attendees included Randy Wise VP Chris Wise (left), Milan City Administrator Ben Swayze, Randy Wise Customer Relations Manager and chamber president Christine Mann and Randy Wise General Manager Robert Betts. Swayze accepted a donation for this summer’s Movies in the Park.

The evening also included the presentation of monetary donations from Randy Wise Chevrolet Buick to three Milan area organizations. The Milan Area Fire Department received a donation toward their fitness room. MAFD Chief Bob Stevens and Assistant Chief Marty Ritchie were on hand to accept this donation on behalf of the department. The Backstreet Cruizers, represented by Jim and Linda Gilson, received a donation towards their 10th annual Car Fest. Ben Swayze, Milan City Administrator accepted a donation for this summer’s Movies in the Park program.

The Milan Area Chamber of Commerce meets the second Friday of each month for their monthly breakfast meeting. In March, June and September, the chamber holds the Business After Hours at different businesses throughout the Milan area.
