Eileen Kuet, M.D.
• Dr. Eileen Kuet has joined the medical staff at Packard Health. Kuet is the second physician to practice at Packard Health West in the new office on Ann Arbor’s west side.
• The Chelsea Recreation Council was recently awarded a grant of $12,000 from the Chelsea Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. The grant will support the "Chelsea: For the Love of Baseball" project, a renovation project for existing baseball and softball fields in Chelsea. The grant helped complete a challenge grant from the Detroit Tigers Foundation to the Chelsea Recreation Council.
• 3.7 DESIGNS in Ann Arbor hired Nathan Olmstead to be head of interactive design.
• Brighton resident Bonnie R. Shaw, an attorney at the law firm of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione in Ann Arbor, was named to a 1-year term as co-chairwoman of the Public Relations and Community Liaison Committee of the Washtenaw County Bar Association.
• Dr. Ian F. Lytle recently joined the physicians at The Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, based on the campus of Saint Joseph Mercy. Lytle will see patients at offices in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Chelsea and Saline and at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn.
• Kelly K. Burris, a shareholder with the Ann Arbor office of law firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, was selected by Comcast Newsmakers for a brief feature to discuss her efforts with Angel Flight, which resulted in receiving the Unsung Hero award from the State Bar of Michigan this fall. Comcast Newsmakers is a Michigan-produced feature that hosts community leaders and elected officials and airs throughout the state on CNN Headline News. Burris is also a fundraiser for Angel Flight. She raised $12,000 and $25,000 respectively in 2008 and 2009 as part of her participation in the Air Race Classic, an all-female aviation race that dates back to 1929 and famed pilot Amelia Earhart. Burris won the Air Race Classic this year, beating 34 other teams on the 2,700-mile race from Denver, Colorado to Atlantic, Iowa. She and her co-pilot donated the $5,000 top prize to Angel Flight Central.
• Ann Arbor-based NSF International recently announced the development of a new protocol that certifies allergen reduction performance of residential and commercial, family-sized clothes washers. Whirlpool Corp. is the first company to receive certification with this new protocol for clothes washers. To receive NSF's Allergen Reduction Performance certification, washers must remove at least 95 percent of house dust mite allergens and pet dander, and the wash water must achieve 131 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature required to kill dust mites.
• Domino's Pizza, headquartered in Ann Arbor, announced Jan. 5 that Chairman and CEO David A. Brandon will step down as CEO effective March 7. The Board of Directors plans to elect J. Patrick Doyle as Brandon's successor.
• Ann Arbor-based Thomson Reuters announced that its Clinical Xpert Navigator has been named the category leader for mobile data systems in the latest "Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services" report. This is the eighth consecutive year that the Navigator solution (formerly called MercuryMD MData) has been ranked number one.
• Borders Group, headquartered in Ann Arbor, appointed Dan Angus vice president of customer loyalty effective Jan. 4.
