The following is a list of achievements by businesses and individuals in the Ann Arbor area:

William R. Boudreaux, an attorney and shareholder in the Ann Arbor office of law firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, was named co-chair of the firm’s Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical practice group. The group counsel clients, from small start-ups and academic institutions to global corporations, on the evolving body of law promoting and protecting biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovation in the United States and throughout the world.

Kendra Kerr has acquired her real estate license and is now an agent with Keller Williams Realty in Ann Arbor, as part of the Christine Faeth team.

Humantech, Inc. recently announced the promotions of three current staff members: Susan Shaw to consultant, and Greg Cresswell and Kevin Perdeaux to senior consultants. All three are board-certified ergonomics engineers. Humantech is an ergonomics consulting firm based in Ann Arbor.

• The University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center was selected as a new Pediatric Heart Network core site for clinical research. Created and funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, the Pediatric Heart Network is a cooperative network of pediatric cardiovascular clinical research centers that conducts studies in children with congenital or acquired heart disease. Researchers will receive $2.25 million over five years to help develop and lead clinical trials designed to improve outcomes for children with congenital heart disease. Dr. Richard G. Ohye, associate professor at the U-M Medical School Department of Surgery and co-director of the Michigan Congenital Heart Center, and Dr. Caren S. Goldberg, clinical associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases, will serve as primary investigators.

ForeSee, a customer experience consulting firm based in Ann Arbor, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The company announced Aug. 19 that it is shortening its name — from ForeSee Results to ForeSee, to align with how it is already known in the marketplace — and introducing an updated logo. The new name and logo will roll out gradually and strategically on ForeSee communications and consumer-facing surveys over the next six months.

NSK has invested 10M to expand its Franklin, Ind. manufacturing facility. The investment will add a total of six new taper roller production lines to the plant. After full launch the Franklin facility is expected to add in total 35 new positions. In addition, four engineering positions have been filled at the Ann Arbor facility to support continued customer development. Operating in the Americas, NSK Corp. is a member of NSK Ltd. Group and is headquartered in Ann Arbor.

• The law firm Dykema recently announced that a lawyer who handles automotive appellate and class action work has joined the firm’s litigation department in Ann Arbor office. John Thomas will join Dykema's Ann Arbor office from Bryan Cave LLP, where he served as of counsel in the Class and Derivative Actions practice.

• The Charles Reinhart Co., a real estate firm headquartered in Ann Arbor, has added four real estate agents. Joining Reinhart are Patrick Butters, Scott Cooper, Sarah Kovalak and Amy Maier. Butters will work out of the Ann Arbor North office, Cooper will work out of the Chelsea office, and Kovalak and Maier will work out of the Ann Arbor South office.
