'Taste of America' report focuses on Domino's Pizza finally caring about taste
Time Magazine spoke to pizza lovers when it dug into the new pizza recipe just launched nationally by Ann Arbor Township-based Domino's Pizza.
What did the new recipe do for the company?
Not much on the taste front, according to the report.
What's notable, said the article by reporter Josh Ozersky - a food writer now working on a biography of Colonel Sanders of KFC fame - is the fact that Domino's now cares about taste.
He wrote: "The fact is that the Domino's reboot isn't that great. I just had one. It's slightly softer and greasier now, in an enjoyable way. Whatever. The point is not the taste itself but the fact that Domino's actually cares what its pizzas taste like."

I can also confirm Mitch's statement that the people in the commercial are in fact employees who work here in Ann Arbor. I know a number of them.

I just tried the new Dominos pizza and it was okay - but I'm disappointed because I really loved the taste of the old Dominos pizza - it WAS the best pizza!!

As an employee of Domino's, I'll try to clarrify some of the misstatements in the previous comments. * We do not have a legal foundation. We have not donated to pro-life or anti-gay groups. We have absolutely no political agenda in these regards. We are a public company, and our founder has had no ownership interest in Domino's Pizza for over a decade. * The people in the commercials may appreciate that you think they are actors, but they all have real jobs, working with me at Domino's in the positions that they say in the ads. This includes our head chef in the comercials, who oversees all of our product development. * I hope you'll give our new product a chance and add your thoughts to the other real comments on our web site at PizzaTurnaround.com

It doesn't matter to me what they do with their recipe. As long as they're actively affiliated with pro-life positions, I won't be spending my money to help them.

I personally think it's a better recipe than Domino's previous one, but then again there's people that thing flavors like "garlic" and "red pepper spice" are bad things. Or maybe I just got a lucky "good-flavored" pizza when I ordered. Of course, if I've got an extra few bucks, I'll order Pizza House or Cottage Inn or NYPD anytime, and even Jet's isn't that much more expensive and a whole lot tastier in my opinion.

Well, I had to try the "new" pizza after the advertising blitz. It isn't any better. The Little Squeezer's Hot and Ready pizza is much better! AND who actually believes those people aren't actors? Too bad one of our largest businesses can't get it right.
