Forbes: Top job needs for 2013 include more than just technical skills

It’s no surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention to the job market that the sectors hiring fastest skew towards those with technical expertise and engineering degrees.

However, a new list published by Forbes on Tuesday looked at what the most in-demand job skills are for the most fastest hiring professions in America, and computer programming and math abilities were not at the top.

The top two skills on the list were critical thinking and complex problem solving, followed by good judgment and active listening. While these aren’t necessarily skills that are easy to demonstrate on a resume, the report said job interviews especially are important in demonstrating those intangibles that many employers are looking for.
