Toyota Technical Center donates computers to Chelsea District Library

By Lizzy Alfs

The Toyota Technical Center recently donated 45 computers and monitors to the Chelsea District Library.

The donation to the library is part of a larger contribution to The Library Network, a pubic library cooperative serving 65 libraries in southeast Michigan. The Toyota Technical Center donated about 250 computers overall.

This marks the largest technology donation the Chelsea District Library has ever received, according to a news release.

Library director Bill Harmer said that the donation will allow the library to replace its current public workstations.

“In difficult economic times, Toyota’s donation will strengthen the library’s budget by allowing resources to be allocated to other strategic purposes,” according to the release.

The Toyota Technical Center employs about 1,100 workers at its campuses in York Township and Ann Arbor Township.
