University of Michigan redesigning Web site for job openings

By Nathan Bomey

The University of Michigan, the Ann Arbor region's top employer, is redesigning its jobs Web site.

The reconfigured site, umjobs.org, will debut in June, officials said. The university posts its job openings through the site, and jobseekers typically must file applications through the Web portal.

The university said the new site would allow jobseekers to improved customization options and better navigability.

"For job applicants, the new site is more accessible and postings are easier to search," the university announced. "There are also more options for receiving and sharing job alerts, including notifications via e-mail, RSS feeds and social media services like Twitter."
