Veritas Capital completed its acquisition of Thomson Reuters Healthcare Business today. The business, with principal offices in Ann Arbor, Chicago and Denver, will now be a standalone entity entitled Truven Health Analytics.

According to a news release, Truven is the combination of the words "truth" and "proven." The $1.25 billion purchase will be "seamless to all personnel" and is effective immediately, according to a statement by Brian Erni on behalf of the company.

Truven Health Analytics now employs the approximately 900 workers in the 777 Building on Eisenhower Parkway. The company will continue to offer a range of services including data analytics and performance benchmarking solutions to hospitals, healthcare centers, health plans, government agencies, employers and pharmaceutical companies.

"The healthcare industry is constantly striving for higher quality and improved efficiency, and our new partnership with Veritas Capital will help us harness the power of our world class team to tackle some of the industry's biggest challenges," Mike Boswood, president and chief executive officer of Truven, said in the release. "We're eager to realize the potential that our future holds."

Veritas Capital is a private equity firm based in New York that invests in companies that provide critical products and services to governments and commercial consumers worldwide.
