Ann Arbor-based Victory Lane Quick Oil Change is expanding the services it offers customers to include auto repair work.

The store, which has locations at 1635 Plymouth Rd. and 2185 W. Stadium in Ann Arbor, plans to offer the new services at the West Stadium location this month, said Bradley Gibbons, communications coordinator for Victory Lane.

“We are waiting on finalizing the hiring of a mechanic, and as soon as we do, that person will be starting and the program will be starting immediately,” he said.

The auto repair work will include brakes, shocks and struts, spark plug and air conditioning service, according to a news release.

“Our loyal customers asked for more, and we are responding,” said president and CEO Derrick Oxender in the release.

The company will roll out the services at its 31 franchise and three corporate locations over the next five years, focusing on the West Stadium location in Ann Arbor first.

“If we can make it quick and just as good as our service we provide for our preventative maintenance, then this is that next step of keeping customers happy and giving them one place they can visit,” Gibbons said.

Ma'am, your windshield washer bottle looks a bit dirty, we can do a flush for only $29.95...

Are they hiring mechanics or will it be the same workers that do the routine oil change service: oil change, air filter, top off other fluids, air pressure checks on tires. These are skills that are relatively easy and involve little diagnosis skills/knowledge. Any other repair? Sorry, these guys don't have the skills even though the demand for car repairs may be real.

Low quality oil/oil filters, overtorqued oil pan screws, pushy technicians who try to sell a $3 wholesale air filter for $30...and now they will be full service repair shops? Find a good local mechanic and support local business

Exactly. Joe over at Japanese Auto is wonderful, fair and honest, qualities lacking in many auto repair shops these days. Support local businesses!

I hope that the auto repair part of the business doesn't adopt the same pushy, aggressive sales tactics that the oil change part of the business practices. There is no need to push unneeded services on customers, some of whom can be manipulated by aggressive sales tactics to generate profits. I have personally received an oil change at this location and unfortunately, the service personnel continued to push unnecessary and costly services at me during the entire oil change. There is nothing wrong with the concept of quick oil changes or adding repair services, but let's hope they back off on pushing unneeded services and repairs on customers.

They do quality work at very reasonable prices. This should be win/win for the community!
