The co-founder of Zingerman's suffered a heart attack in early August, and has been recovering at home. Saginaw detailed the incident in a letter to his partners in the iconic collection of businesses, sharing what happened, the mistakes he made along the way and how it's affecting him. The result is a glimpse into the life-altering event for a person many in Ann Arbor care about - and a cautionary tale, too.

Ann Arbor can say good-bye to the big purple bus that connected the various downtown shopping districts and campus hubs for several years. It's an interesting idea, but ridership fees struggled to cover operating costs - even after the University of Michigan joined the partnership. Trying budgets mean something has to give - and The Link fell on the priority list.
