Story was revised to add information on a running back commit.
Earlier this spring, Braylon Edwards wondered aloud why no one inside the Michigan football program had taken serious interest in his brother, Chelsea High School running back Berkley Edwards.
Well, Brady Hoke still hasn't made a formal offer to the younger Edwards, but a team with a former Michigan standout on its staff has.
According to Scout.com's Allen Trieu, the University of Iowa formally offered Berkley Edwards on Wednesday.
The offer comes from a coaching staff that currently features Braylon Edwards' former Wolverine position coach, Erik Campbell.

Roy Roundtree wants to wear the No. 1 jersey for the Michigan football team, and not just because of the prestige attached to it at his school.
He grew up idolizing the last guy who wore it.
And that guy, Braylon Edwards, enlisted Roundtree to coach in his charity basketball game Friday night at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor.
"That was my idol growing up," said Roundtree, who grew up in Ohio but is a lifelong Michigan fan. "I watched him every Saturday, and to see all the great wide receivers come through Michigan, that weighed on my options coming here."

"I was released today by the 49ers due to my injury that required more time to rehab and hasn’t allowed me to re-sync with the offense," Edwards said in a statement. "I wish the 49ers organization the best of luck during the Playoffs. I will be working hard this off season to strengthen my knee and prepare for the 2012 season. Thanks for your continued support and for being such loyal fans."

ESPN's Rick Reilly caught up to Edwards, who promised 100 eighth-graders that he'd give them $10,000 toward college if they carried at least a 2.5 grade-point average, did 15 hours of community service and were exemplary students. Seventy-nine of the 100 in the program met the requirements.
Edwards, who was a rookie with the Cleveland Browns when he made the promise, now is with the San Francisco 49ers. His promise is basically equal to his current salary.
"That's how it goes sometimes in life," Edwards said in a video interview with Reilly. Watch the complete story below.

One coach disappointed his players Friday. One inspired his audience.
The culprit in the first case, former Michigan running back Mike Hart, had the audacity to coach the losing side in Braylon Edwards’ charity basketball game at Pioneer High School.
“Mike should have gotten fired,” Edwards laughed, taking some good-natured shots and his former college teammate and still-friend after an opposing team that included Detroit Pistons Charlie Villanueva and Austin Daye escaped with a two-point win.
“Mike did an awful job of coaching, and we’re going to look into his contract after today.”
Lucky for the Wolverines, their real coach earned better reviews.
In advance of Saturday’s spring football game, Brady Hoke hosted an alumni event for more than 250 former Wolverines at the Al Glick Field House on Friday afternoon.

It's time for former Michigan wide receiver Braylon Edwards to evaluate his life and act like the star he believes he is, columnist Michael Rosenberg writes for SI.com.
Edwards, who has six receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown for the New York Jets this season, was arrested about 5 a.m. Tuesday on Manhatten's West Side for driving while intoxicated.
Rosenberg on Edwards:
He can still be the man I think he can be, instead of what the country thinks he is. But frankly, he doesn't have as much time as he thinks. He is 27 years old. Unlike most professions, pro football does not allow you to reinvent yourself at 35. If Edwards doesn't change his ways soon, his legacy will be that of a knucklehead. Hey, some people on this planet are knuckleheads. But Edwards is bright and gifted and does not have to be one of them.
Edwards will not start for the Jets on Sunday. Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said any playing time on Sunday is up to coach Rex Ryan.
