A preview of Monday's Olympic schedule, with an emphasis on athletes with Ann Arbor-area ties:
Michael Phelps insists there’s no rift between himself and former Michigan swimmer Tyler Clary.
They’ll certainly share a common goal on Monday.
The American teammates will both participate in the fifth and final preliminary heat of the 200-meter butterfly, scheduled for 5:36 a.m. at the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park.
Clary made national headlines when he questioned Phelps’ work ethic during an interview with his hometown newspaper, The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif.
He told the newspaper that he "saw a real lack of preparation" by Phelps during their year training together at Michigan. He implied that Phelps, who trained with Club Wolverine from 2005-08, got by on natural talent while others had to work hard.

During his first week in Ann Arbor in 2010, one of the most gifted gymnasts - and athletes in general - in Michigan history found out fast that he wasn't in California any longer.
"He got a $100 ticket for longboarding over by the stadium on his way to a meeting," Michigan men's gymnastics coach Kurt Golder recalled. "You've got to be kidding.
"What a welcome."

Sam Mikulak and Adrian de los Angeles have known each other for a long time.
Not just a few months or a handful of years. A long, long time.
Two of the more established young gymnasts in the Michigan men's gymnastics program, Mikulak and de los Angeles have been around each other since, well, birth -- basically.
"I did Mommy and Me (gymnastics) classes with Sam," de los Angeles recalls.
