Phoenix Contractors went over and above any expectations in honoring Julie Duda, a former employee who passed away after a long battle with cancer. The company did all of the site preparation, provided all the materials, built an access bridge and paid for the sign for "Julie's Playground" at Peace Lutheran Church, 8260 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor. Mark Hiser, Vice President of Phoenix Contractors, said the company wanted to honor Julie. Julie, her husband Martin, and her mother Joan Savery were members of Peace. The playground equipment was purchased with memorial money for Julie and other funds raised by the members of Peace. The park bench next to the playground was made by Julie's brother, Jeff Savery. Two trees by the playground were donated in memory of Julie and Harold Woodruff. The playground is being dedicated on Sunday, October 24th at Noon.
