Just a short note to keep you informed of the upcoming Oct 5 AA (Pioneer) High School Homecoming event (50th Anniversary of the Michigan High School State Football Champions), I have listed the players that are planning to attend the event: Class of 63: Van Batsakes, Larry Clay, Rick Deanhofer, Paul Fuester, Mike Juntenen, Chuck Meneffee, Tom Solowczuk, Michael Thomas, and Chuck Wilkins. Class of 64: Bill Bailey, Pat Clarke, Gene Cleveland, Jerry Hartman, Chuck Hulce, Bob Kleinschmidt, Kent Leslie, Tom Morrow, Harold Simons, and John White. Class of 65: Bill Wood. Cheerleaders: Cindy Wild (thus far). Former Players: Ray Pittman, Larry Hahn, Kelley Rae, Mike Koeller, and we hope Roy Campbell. Of the class of 64 players, the one coming the farthest to attend is Michael Thomas, who lives in California. Kent Leslie is coming from Nevada, Jerry Hartman from Maryland, and Bill Bailey from Texas. Ed Klum, will be traveling on a pre-planned trip to Europe unfortunately, but in his absence, he wrote some really nice words which will be shared with the team at the BBQ event for all to see and read. A lot of effort is going into the planning of these events, with a lot of help from Ray Pittman, Mark Quigley and Mary Tobin of the Boosters, Eve Caar, AD, Rick Weid, and Dale Leslie, so I am sure that we will all have a great time. On a personal note, there are two players that due to serious illness, will not be attending. They are Tom Lovell and Tom Rathman. In their absence, we are having everyone sign two footballs. Each football has its own display stand and nameplate that dedicates the football to each byname. The signing will take place at the BBQ and we would like to have the coaches sign the footballs first so that your signatures are prominently placed on the footballs before the rest of the team begins to do the same. That's all for now. We look forward to seeing each of you at the event. John White
