Every 68 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease!There are about 196,000 people in Michigan living with this devastating disease…5,000 in Washtenaw County!
An Alzheimer’s Association support group is a safe place to learn, offer and receive helpful tips, and meet others coping with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience, helping members feel better prepared to cope with their unique situation.

Support group members are typically the spouse, adult child, other family member or friend of someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Support group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future.
