Item: multi-talent star Andy Griffith (1926-2012) passes, July 3, 2012, in North Carolina at 85.

I don't think I ever heard Uncle Bud laugh so hard and for so long than at a Patrick family gathering at the Galpin Farm when he nearly fell out of a living room chair on the floor in hysterics listening to Andy Griffith's comic creation "What It Was, Was Football."   They would play the little 45 rpm record over-and-over-and-over, again and again.  And Bud laughed harder (if that were possible) each time although he must have memorized it. Fast-forward to years later when Drew and Graham Leslie, 9 and 7, pleased their great Uncle immensely on a visit to Hudson, FL  by reciting the whole skit verbatim.
(For those who need a refresher, Griffith played a hayseed who wandered into a football game and was amazed at what he heard and saw.)
