City of Ypsilanti Park Master Plan Update Meeting – Public Input Session
Thursday, August 9th, 7pm, SPARK East Center – 215 West Michigan Avenue in downtown Ypsilanti.
The City of Ypsilanti Parks and Recreation Commission, with the help of City Planning and Public Services staff, is updating the Parks and Recreation five year plan (2013-2018).
An adopted Parks and Recreation Master plan conforming to certain standards is required by the State of Michigan for the City to maintain its eligibility for many recreation-related grants, including Natural Resources Trust Fund grants, and helps to provide a basis for many other grant applications. In addition, the planning process helps the Recreation Commission, staff, and City Council inventory and prioritize the parks and recreation system, and helps the City to identify and engage community partners.
Ypsilanti residents are invited to attend this meeting and give input on what improvements and programs they would like to see in Ypsilanti’s parks.
