Walk, bike or run the Lakelands Trail State Park in celebration of Michigan Trails Week and National Public Lands Day. Any skill level or age group can participate. This would be a great occasion to gather up the family or a group of friends to get up off the couch and join you outside for some fresh air in our great outdoors.
There are three different trail lengths depending on your mode of transportation. Official start times and distances for the three legs of the event include:
The above distances are one-way, and no transportation is provided for the round-trip. You may start any time you like if the "official" time doesn't work for you. Or even hop on the trail wherever is most convenient for you; it doesn’t have to be at one of the official starting locations.
All three legs culminate at Bennett Park in Hamburg Township for refreshments, raffling off of prizes, and community resource booths, including bike vendors and area community and parks information. No registration is required, everything is provided for free, and the event will take place rain or shine so prepare accordingly.
The Brighton State Recreation Area and Pinckney State Recreation Area are co-sponsoring this event in collaboration with the Village of Pinckney, Putnam Township and Hamburg Township. Let’s keep this fabulous summer going as long as we can. We hope to meet you in the middle at Bennett Park! 810-229-6566 for more info.
