Mark Twain visits Clinton and Tecumseh, December 7th and 8th!

Ride with Mark Twain on Friday, December 7th at 5:30 p.m. to the Tecumseh Holiday Parade aboard the Southern Michigan Railroad Society train and help us re-create the 1868 visit by Samuel Clemons as he traveled around Michigan at various speaking engagements and traveled this rail line from Jackson to Tecumseh.  Reservations available online at www.southernmichiganrailroad.com to assure you a seat on the train, with payment on the day of the ride by cash or check only.  Fares $15 adult and senior with youth ages 2 to 12 years at $9.00.  The train will return after the parade.

Presenting "The American Vandal Abroad -- A Visit with Mark Twain" at the Tecumseh Center for the Arts, Shirley Todd Herrick Theater on Saturday, December 8th at 1:00 p.m., the members of Southern Michigan Railroad Society invite you to attend this historic re-creation by Michael Bateson, portraying Samuel Clemons.  On Christmas Day, December 25, 1868, Samuel Clemons arrived in Tecumseh via train traveling the rail line between Jackson and Tecumseh on a speaking tour throughout the state.  Mr Bateson has studied Mr. Clemons and his Twain persona extensively and will speak of the travels and adventures.  Tickets are available through the TCA Box Office - www.tca.org.
