Mike Gould, Laser Artist, Lights Up ArtPrize 2012

Grand Rapids, MI – Mike Gould, Ann Arbor based Laser Artist, has made an awesome impression in the first days of ArtPrize 2012 in Grand Rapids.  His kinetic laser sculpture, “Stratus 10”, is on display at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, lighting up the 24 story tall atrium. The Grand Rapids Press selected it as one
of the Top 10 Images from first day of ArtPrize 2012.

“Stratus 10” comes alive after night falls.  The powerful red, green and blue lasers can then be clearly seen from across the Grand River, which flows past the hotel, and from the bridges that cross over it.  Guests can then sit back in the atrium lounge, unwind from exploring the works of over 1700 artists spread over 161 venues, and enjoy as the lasers project a purely magical complex shifting pattern.
