Most people associate the name "Lamaze" with a joyous event - the birth of a new baby.  But some people are not so lucky and experience a miscarriage or the death of a newborn. For 30 years, the Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor has provided a Miscarriage and Newborn Loss Support Group. The group provides a setting where people, can share their experiences, give and receive support, and learn to cope with their feelings of loss.

October 15th marks the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.  October also marks the 30th anniversary of the Miscarriage and Newborn Loss Support Group held at Lamaze Family Center for FREE.  It was founded by Mary G. Schuman in 1982 and is the only group of this kind in the Ann Arbor area. As you can imagine, this is important work that has a profound and lasting impact on the individuals seeking support.

Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor is a 501c3 non-profit and is proud to be a part of the Ann Arbor community since 1967.  Along with childbirth preparation classes we also offer a variety of other educational classes to families providing a community of support for new and growing families.  Also offered for free are a Postpartum Depression Support Group and a Teen Childbirth Class. Lamaze is currently seeking sponsors to sustain these very important programs.  To make a donation or for more information, please go to our website at www.lamazefamilycenter.org.
