To support the Ypsilanti High School and Middle School Bands, the Ypsilanti Band Association presents a Symphonic Evening on Saturday, February 25, from 6-11pm at the Four Points by Sheraton in Ann Arbor. The evening includes a strolling dinner, silent auction, live auction, and live music performance by some of Ypsi’s high school ensembles.
“Excellence in the performing arts is a long tradition at Ypsilanti schools,” said High School Band Director Matt Kazmierski. “The support of our families and the support of our community are the big reasons behind that fact.”
Items slated for auction include a U of M football #16 “throwback” jersey signed by Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson, tickets and post-show backstage tour to “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” on Broadway in New York City, an African Safari Trip to South Africa's legendary Zululand Conservation Area, passes to the Ellen Show, and a Grand Hotel getaway weekend on Mackinac Island.
Symphonic Evening tickets are $50 each and can be reserved by contacting Nancy Uffner-Elliott at nkuesfe@provide.net or (734) 395-4099.
“We’re going to have good food, good music, and great fun, all in support of the Ypsilanti Public School Bands,” said Uffner-Elliott. “We hope the community will share this wonderful night out for a very good cause.”
