Recovery From Addiction and Christian Spirituality

Posted: Feb 20, 2013 at 5:21 PM [Feb 20, 2013]

The community of people in recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction includes people of any faith, virtually every faith and of no specific faith. Connecting or reconnecting with the power of one’s spirituality can provide critical support for recovering and maintaining a substance-free life or for coping with the chemical dependency of a loved one.

Dawn Farm invites you to attend " Recovery From Addiction and Christian Spirituality" on Tuesday February 26, 2013; 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The program will be presented by Brother Ed Conlin, BSEd, CADC; an addiction counselor with the Detroit Capuchin Service System and a former team leader and counselor at Dawn Farm's Spera Recovery Center / detox facility. This program will present a Christian perspective of the role of spirituality in recovering from chemical dependency and discuss the Twelve Steps as a spiritual program which can benefit anyone (recovering or not.)

This program is part of the annual Dawn Farm Education Series. All programs in the Education Series are FREE and open to anyone interested in attending, No registration is required. The programs are presented at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Education Center auditorium, at 5305 Elliott Drive in Ypsilanti. Free C.E. is provided. The Education Series is organized by Dawn Farm, a non-profit community of programs providing a continuum of chemical dependency services.
