Come aboard the Southern Michigan Railroad Friday, December 7th at 5:30 p.m. and Ride the Rails with Mark Twain! Depart Clinton at 320 South Division Street and take a leisurely train ride to Tecumseh where all passengers will be able to enjoy the Tecumseh Holiday Parade. Train fares are $15.00 adult or senior and $9.00 for youth ages 2 to 12 years for this 3 1/2 special event, with the train departing Tecumseh after the parade and returning to Clinton at approximately 9 p.m.
In 1868 Samuel Clemens traveled around Michigan speaking at several venues including Tecumseh Michigan. The Railroad Society, with the help of Michael Bateson, portraying Mark Twain, will re-create this historic adventure! Michael Bateson has studied Mark Twain and Samuel Clemens for over 15 years and is sought after to portray him on stage. Mr. Bateson is excited for this opportunity to actually re-create his visit and presentation to the citizens of Michigan. He will talk with the passengers on board as to his adventures.
Reservations for the train may be made online at www.southernmichiganrailroad.com or call 517-456-7677. Payment is on the day of the ride by cash or check only. This is the final train excursion for the 2012 year that marks the 30th Anniversary of Southern Michigan Railroad Society. We hope you'll join us in this very special event!
