On April 1, 2011, SafeHouse Center launched a county-wide multimedia campaign—a combination of billboard, bus tail and poster advertising—to raise awareness about the frequency of sexual assault in local communities. Planned to coincide with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the campaign is supported by a generous grant from the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation. The campaign will run through the end of April.
“We believe it’s important for members of the community to educate themselves about the impact of sexual assault,” says SafeHouse Center Executive Director Barbara Niess May. “Additionally, we view this as a public opportunity to engage community members in our work.”

SafeHouse Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation in Washtenaw County, Michigan. We are a social change and social service organization dedicated to ending gender-based violence.
