Stanford anthropologist to speak at local church

WHO: Dr. Tanya Luhrmann, psychological anthropologist and a professor in the Department of Anthropology at Stanford University

WHAT: Dr. Luhrmann will be speaking at both the 9:30am and 11am worship services at the Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor.  She will discuss her latest book, "When God Talks Back," which explores prayer experiences of evangelicals at two Vineyard churches. Her book explains how someone can live a life both fully modern and fully engaged with the supernatural.

WHEN: Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at both the 9:30am and 11am worship services

WHY: Dr. Luhrmann's book has received national attention and glowing reviews.  Her work is a true interdisciplinary blend of spirituality, science, and psychology that is embraced both by the Vineyard churches she studied and the academic community.  Media is welcome.  Interviews with Dr. Luhrmann can be arranged.
