"Tit for Tat' On-going Stalemate in A2

I drove south on Wagner Road over the M-14 bypass last night and a group of people were quickly mounting protest signs on the newly-constructed fence erected by the State securing the area that recently harbored squatters.
I thought: A. Why did the State build a Berlin Wall when a court order evict squatters?  It is an ominous fence, not the least attractive with "No Trespassing Signs" mounted every five feet, north to south.  And,  B. In Ann Arbor, you don't spit in the face of the homeless and even as a conservative, I interpret the fence as an insult to those who found refuge there. Plus, how many more fences will go up in similar situations at a cost to the taxpayer? 100s?
