On Saturday morning Sept. 8, 9:45 am - noon, U.S. Rep. John Dingell, a main author of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), will review the current features of the Act, which has been upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The public is cordially invited to this first fall meeting of Gray Panthers of Washtenaw. To accommodate a large group of interested citizens, the event will take place in the meeting hall of the Pittsfield Township Administration Building, located at 6201 W. Michigan Avenue, near Platt Road. There is free parking on the south side near the building entrance.
Rep. Dingell will speak about which features of the act have been implemented, the schedule of how additional benefits will become available, and how citizens can make sure they are receiving the full health and cost-saving advantages intended by the law. He will also address the issues in the Congress that will affect the ongoing effort to legislate improvement of the Act. There will be a question and answer session after his remarks.
Refreshments will be served, and Gray Panthers officers will be available for new members to sign up. Gray Panthers is an intergenerational education and advocacy organization dedicated to achieving social and economic justice and peace for all people.
