Voices in Harmony, a women’s a cappella chorus from Ypsilanti, placed second out of 13 choruses in a regional competition held in Cleveland this spring.  With its highest placement to date, the chorus performed two songs, “Great Day for the Irish/MacNamara’s Band Medley” and “That Tumble Down Shack in Athlone” as early Irish immigrant characters.  The chorus was judged on sound, showmanship, music and expression.

The chorus is comprised of 75 members from the Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Belleville area as well as long distance members who travel from Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Jackson.

Voices in Harmony sings 4-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style and is affiliated with the non-profit organization, Sweet Adelines International.  Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7-9:30pm at the UAW Hall at 8975 Textile Rd., Ypsilanti.  Guests are welcome.
