Weight Watchers Group President & CEO Florine Mark Supports Women's Heart Health with $16,247 Donation to U-M Cardiovascular Center

Weight Watchers Group President and CEO Florine Mark presented checks totaling almost $50,000 to representatives of three local medical institutions April 18. The monies will be used to advance women’s health in metro-Detroit.

Checks were given to:

• Dr. David Pinsky and Dr. Elizabeth Jackson from the Women's Heart Program at the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center.
• Karry Samulski and Nikki London from the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
• Dr. Pam Marcovitz and Joanne Ministrelli from the Beaumont
  Ministrelli’s Women’s Heart Center.

Funds were raised through Mark’s 12th annual Remarkable Women FUNdraiser, held last October with special guest Jane Fonda. Fonda served as the event’s keynote speaker, waiving her speaking fee so that all proceeds could benefit these three local groups.

“It is truly my pleasure to award this money to these three fantastic groups. Working together, I really believe we can make our mothers, our daughters, our sisters and our neighbors live longer, healthier, happier lives,” said Mark.
