The City of Ypsilanti Parks and Recreation Commission, with the City of Ann Arbor Gallup Park Canoe Livery, will hold it’s second annual Ypsilanti Canoe Day on Sunday, October 7th, from 10am to 3pm. Canoes will be available for rent at the north end of Ypsilanti’s Frog Island Park (on Rice Street north of Depot Town) for shorter trip (under an hour) down the Huron River. Those renting canoes will take out at the north end of Ford Lake and be transported back to Frog Island Park, along with their canoe, in a Livery van.

For rentals, the first 22 boats (canoes and kayaks available) rented will be $15 per boat. After that the cost will be $25 per boat. Canoe and kayaks are rented for the day, not by the hour. Cash, credits cards, and checks are accepted. A member of your party must be 16 years or older and no children under one are allowed in the boats. Risk waivers must be signed. Life jackets are provided. Last launch is at 3:00 p.m. and last pick-up is at 4 p.m.
