Once again it is time to welcome all the little ghouls, goblins, princesses, and pirates to the Downtown Ypsilanti Halloween Festival set for Friday, October 26 from 5-6:30 pm.  The Ypsilanti District Library will start their events with a storytime at 4:30 pm at YDL-Michigan Avenue downstairs.  Then the festivities will move onto Library Park Plaza where kids can play a game, win a prize, have popcorn, or visit the bookmobile.  After that, mosey down to South Washington Street between Michigan Avenue and Ferris for trick-or-treating, face painting, balloon animals, and the costume contest.  The contest will start at 5:30 pm and kids will be judged in three age categories: 0-4, 5-8, and 9-12.  There will be first, second, and third place prizes given in each category. DJ Lawrence Wartley will be playing dance music throughout the event.  The firemen and trucks from the City of Ypsilanti Fire Department will also be on hand to pass out information on fire safety and let kids tour the fire trucks.  It is a Halloween tradition sponsored by the Downtown Association of Ypsilanti!  You won’t want to miss it!
