(YPSILANTI, MI) –Legendary rock-and-roll icon Mitch Ryder will discuss and sign his new autobiography, Devils & Blue Dresses: My Wild Ride as a Rock and Roll Legend, on Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at the Ypsilanti District Library, 5577 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti, MI. Ryder will talk with Martin Bandyke of Ann Arbor’s 107one about the ups and downs of a stellar career spanning six decades. The evening will include a Q&A with the audience. Copies of Devils & Blue Dresses will be available for purchase and signing. Don’t miss this exceptional opportunity to visit with Mitch Ryder – who the All Music Guide calls “the unsung heart and soul of the Motor City rock and roll scene.”
Bookbeat’s review of Devils & Blue Dresses: My Wild Ride as a Rock and Roll Legend states that the autobiography “goes well beyond typical eyewitness accounts of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll stories. His account of rock stardom is one of the most lucid, original, darkly emotional and surreal in rock and roll… readers take caution, this is not a light bedtime story.” The book has been called “emotionally searing,” “candid,” and “riveting.” This title and other great rock and roll memoirs are available throughout YDL’s locations.
Catch Mitch earlier in the day as he performs live from noon to 1 p.m. at the Bank of Ann Arbor’s Sonic Lunch at the corner of Liberty and Division in downtown Ann Arbor (see www.soniclunch.com).
The evening’s event is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-seated basis and is made possible through the support of the Bank of Ann Arbor. For more information, please see www.ypsilibrary.org.
