Ann Arbor residents Jennifer and Kevin Lill recently completed their first novel, The Sleep of Souls. This murder mystery is set in Detroit where their lead character, Harry Anderson, investigates the sudden and unexplained death of his godson Elliot.

"We believe that this book is unique for a few reasons. The story is set in the near future and we use this to illustrate some of the technological innovations that we feel are right over the horizon. The book showcases the future of gaming, sleep research and interactive home-entertainment," states Kevin Lill. "When we started writing this story five years ago we had, what we called a Media-Hub device that was used by our detective. We had to take it out because, by the time we finished writing, the iPhone had been released. At least we know we are on the right track."

Kevin Lill, Development Director for Peace Neighborhood Center, a local community outreach center for low income families, has been an avid writer since childhood. It's his boundless imagination and eye for life's little details that make The Sleep of Souls come to life on the page.

The book's main character, Harry Anderson, is based on Jennifer's real-life father who, like Harry, is a genuine character. Working as a Digital and Social Media Engineer for General Electric, Jennifer's technological know-how and in-depth research has given her the ability to predict future technology trends. It is this abilitythat gives The Sleep of Souls it's exciting and groundbreaking edge!

The Sleep of Souls also deals with the very hot topic of technology and privacy. With the focus on issues of online privacy in the news currently, this book will be a perfect sell for those who are concerned with their own privacy and future technology trends!

Complete at just over 60,200 words, The Sleep of Souls is a quick read that sets the stage for a series of novels based on the adventures of Harry Anderson.
