First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor invites you to view an award-winning 72 minute film about Christian and Muslim women in Liberia coming together to bring peace in Liberia’s civil war. Armed only with white T-shirts and the courage of their convictions, they took on the warlords and non-violently forced a resolution during the stalled peace talks. Inspiring, uplifting, and motivating, this story is a compelling testimony of how grassroots activism can alter the history of nations.
The film, called "Pray the Devil Back to Hell" will be aired three times: Nov. 5 at 1:30pm, Nov. 5 at 8:30pm, and Nov. 7 at 6pm. Discussion will follow. A second set of sessions will feature interviews, extra features, and further discussion: Nov. 14 at 6pm, and Nov. 19 at 1:30pm.
All viewings and discussions will take place at the church (120 S. State St., at the corner of State and Huron) in the Wesley Lounge. These events are co-sponsored by the United Methodist Women and Wesley Foundation Campus Ministries.
