It is not often that religious communities get together to talk about how they can be more inclusive of gays and lesbians (usually, its the exact opposite).

The 2010 TBLG Interfaith Conference aims to change that dichotomy. Religious leaders from around the Ann Arbor community will gather in the largest conference of its kind to be held in A2.

The conference will consist of three separate programs, each dealing with a specific Abrahamic faith, and the issues they face as they work to become more inclusive and affirming of the gays and lesbians in their community.

"We are very excited to be organizing this event." says Adrian Madriz, president of Spectrum of Faiths, an Interfaith LGBT group at U-M. "Last year we had a similar event at the Trotter Center with great success, and this year we've expanded it to include more denominations and a greater diversity of faith backgrounds. I don't think anything like it has ever been done at the University of Michigan before."

If you are interested in attending the conference, it will take place on Mar. 20th from 12p-5p at the Dana Building. E-mail spectrumoffaiths@gmail.com to get more information, and to get the exact times of the programs themselves.
