Aaron Sorkin says Jeff Daniels to star in pilot for HBO
Jeff Daniels
Chelsea-area resident Jeff Daniels will play the lead role in a new series pilot Aaron Sorkin is developing for HBO, according to New York Magazine — confirming a possibility first noted by The Hollywood Reporter. The show, tentatively called "More As The Story Develops," is set behind the scenes of a nightly cable news show.
Sorkin highly praised Daniels, saying "he's going to knock the doors off the place" and "He's really going to knock you out."

No word on where the pilot might be shot, or when it might reach TV. But if and when it does, it will pair two major talents. Daniels has carved out an impressive career as a movie actor while keeping his primary residence near his hometown of Chelsea, and has also found success as a singer-songwriter, playwright and founder of the Purple Rose Theatre. Sorkin is a highly respected writer and producer behind TV's "The West Wing" who recently won an Oscar for his screenplay for "The Social Network."
Although Daniels has done a couple of TV movies, his primary work has been on the big screen and on stage. If the pilot becomes a series, it would be his first.

Congratulations to Jeff! Aaron Sorkin is a great writer/producer; his scripts demand the audience is paying attention in order to keep up (ie., intelligence) To "newstart" below: then don't watch it, but stop being a negative-nelly and so critical. I for one will be anxious to see Jeff in this new and exciting venue and wish him great success!!

No I am NOT a fan. Dumb and Dumber was all he had....did good with THAT. I found him to be very boring doing other, straight, roles....I think he is too proud to do comedies, which he seems suited for.
