Interestingly, "Avatar" wasn't a big player in the weekend's awards programs: The Producers Guild liked "Hurt Locker," while the Screen Actors Guild honored "Inglourious Basterds." That makes the Oscar race wide open, The New York Times says. And USA Today offers up some quotes from the SAG event here.

• The high-profile environmental rock music fest in west Michigan, Rothbury, won't go on this year, but could return in the future, according to The Detroit News. But our friends at the Muskegon Chronicle say a smaller event may take its place this year.
• Mariah Carey will perform at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, the Free Press notes. Elsewhere on the Mariah beat, she and Miley Cyrus have been added to Simon Cowell's single to benefit Haiti relief efforts.
• Talk about holding a grudge. TMZ reports that gear featuring guitarist Slash was banned from a Guns N Roses concert.

• Actor James Mitchell of "All My Children" has died at age 89.
STAGE
• The New York Times has a rave review of the new Broadway revival of "A View from the Bridge." This production of the play by University of Michigan grad Arthur Miller stars Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johansson.

• TMZ reports that Gary Coleman has been arrested on a domestic violence warrant.
• Andy Dick has been arrested on sexual-abuse charges.
MOVIES
• The big-budget Hugh Jackman movie "Real Steel" plans to film in Michigan.
