Ann Arbor Civic Theatre will present Neil Simon’s comedy "The Good Doctor," directed by Adrian Neill, March 16-25, at the A2CT’s Studio Theater at 322 W Ann Street. Performances are at 8 p.m. March 16, 17, 23, and 24, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25. Tickets are $12 for general admission, and may be reserved in advance by calling 734-97-2228, or at the door beginning 30 minutes before each performance. The intimate A2CT Studio Theater is one block from downtown Ann Arbor, with ample free parking.

In "The Good Doctor," Simon weaves a variety of Anton Chekhov short stories into a laugh-out-loud evening. The vignettes explore the humor, pathos, and utter humanity of characters caught in ordinary - and extraordinary - circumstances. "The Good Doctor" presents comical scenes rife with non-sequiturs, combining the social realism of Chekhov, the wit of Simon, and the surprising resources of one room.

Simon is considered the world’s most successful modern playwright, with more Academy and Tony Award nominations than any other writer. He is no stranger to comedy. From musicals like "Sweet Charity" to the iconic plays "Brighton Beach Memoirs" and "Biloxi Blues," Simon is known for his unique talent of exposing something real in the human spirit.

Playing multiple roles each, cast members include Paul Bianchi, Stacey Erskine, Jack Kausch, Megan Shiplett, and Tom Underwood.
