A feature film starring Robert De Niro that shot scenes in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and other parts of Michigan has picked up a domestic distributor.

Overture Films announced this week it is acquiring U.S. distribution rights to the thriller called "Stone," which also stars Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich (JOH'-vuh-vitch).

The movie is about a convicted arsonist who looks to manipulate a parole officer into a plan to secure his parole by placing his wife in the officer's path.

"Stone" is expected to be released next year.

Filming also took place in Dexter and at the shuttered Southern Michigan Correctional Facility in Jackson.
