The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra's annual Valentine-themed fundraiser for its educational and artistic programs returns this year on Saturday, Feb. 5.
The 15th annual Hearts for the Arts Gala fundraiser is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 5 at Barton Hills Country Club of Ann Arbor.
The night begins with a silent auction and champagne reception, followed by dinner, then a live auction of trips and other packages. “What makes this special is that this is a fun fundraiser,” says A²SO Board President Kim Eagle in a press release. “Guests revel in the opportunity to talk to friends they normally don’t see in the community. It’s a perfect way to support the orchestra and our education and outreach programs.”
Last year the gala raised over $81,000 to serve 30,000 youngsters in a five-county area. Among the orchestra's outreach programs are Ensembles in Your Classroom, Meet Your Conductor, and String Instrument Petting Zoos. Tickets are $150 ($70 is tax-deductible) and available by calling the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra office at 734-994-4801. Sponsors for Hearts for the Arts are Rehmann, KeyBank and Comerica Bank. The symphony is also planning for its fifth annual String Fling on April 27. Administrative Assistants’ Day. The luncheon and strolling fashion show fundraiser begins at 11:30 at Travis Pointe Country Club with a vendors’ market. Vendors and fashions have not been confirmed.
