It's certainly not your everyday wedding cake. The Official Star Wars Blog has an interesting post, complete with graphic pictures, about a groom's cake created by Courtney Clark, proprietor of Cake Nouveau in Ann Arbor and a contestant last month on TLC's Ultimate Cake Off.

"Star War" artist Chris Trevas commissioned Clark to create a dead Tauntaun groom's cake complete with Luke Skywalker emerging from the belly. (For those in the dark about Tauntauns, they're two-footed snow lizards who inhabit the planet Hoth in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy. Han Solo slits the belly of a Tauntaun and stuffs Luke inside to keep him warm in a scene from "The Empire Strikes Back.")

The wedding was held at the the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Clark said.

This isn't amazing at all. It's playing with play dough. The cake is as unappealing as the cup cakes are, dry and tasteless. All hype and no flavor.

This reminds me of the bizarre Tauntaun sleeping bag (for kids!), complete with printed Tauntaun guts on the inside of the bag. http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/bb2e/ Congrats to the happy couple, and to Courtney for yet another amazing cake creation!
